Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis is a tonsil infection. It can be acute (just started) or chronic (has been happening for months). We can discuss antibiotics or surgery for treatment.
Tonsil Mass
If one of your tonsils is larger than the other, this should be evaluated for biopsy.
Thyroid Nodule / Mass / Cancer
While the majority of nodules or lesions are benign (non-cancer), each should evaluated and monitored. If thyroid cancer is identified, then surgery is the treatment of choice. Treatment can be removing part or all of the thyroid, and you may need radioactive iodine therapy or hormone replacement the surgery.
Hyper / Hypothyroidism
The thyroid gland can make too much hormone (hyperthyroidism) or too little (hypothyroidism). We will do testing to identify the cause of this issue and discuss best treatment for it.
Hyperparathyroidism
Your body usually has four parathyroid glands. One of them can become abnormal, known as a parathyroid adenoma. This is usually treated with surgery to remove the adenoma leaving the normal glands in place. Sometimes more than one can become abnormal, known as parathyroid hyperplasia. Kidney disease can also cause hyperparathyroidism.
Sinus Infections / Tumors
Sinus infections can be acute (happen suddenly) or chronic (has been happening for months). Sinus tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Sinuses are evaluated with endoscopy (a scope in the nose), biopsies, CT scans, and treatments include medicines and surgery.
Skin Cancer
There are a variety of skin cancers that can develop. We offer surgical and medical treatments.
Neck Mass
A neck mass is an abnormal lump or swelling in the neck that can result from a variety of causes, ranging from benign cysts and infections to more serious conditions like cancer. Common causes include enlarged lymph nodes, thyroid nodules, salivary gland issues, or tumors.
Salivary Gland Infection / Tumor / Stones
Salivary glands make saliva. If these develop infections, tumors, or stones, you will notice swelling in the affected gland. It can be painful or non-painful. We will discuss best treatment options for these issues.
Hoarseness
Hoarseness is a change in the voice that may sound breathy, raspy, or strained. Persistent hoarseness lasting more than two weeks may signal a more serious condition, such as vocal cord nodules, polyps, or even throat cancer.
Trouble Swallowing
Trouble swallowing, or dysphagia, is a condition where it becomes difficult or painful to swallow food or liquids. It can result from issues in the throat or esophagus and may be caused by inflammation, neurological disorders, muscle weakness, or tumors.
Malnutrition
Malnutrition occurs when the body doesn't receive the right amount of nutrients to function properly, either due to inadequate intake, poor absorption, or underlying medical conditions. In cancer patients, malnutrition is especially common due to treatment side effects like loss of appetite, nausea, or difficulty swallowing.
